Hello! My name is Catherine. I earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science from Nova Southeastern University, both degrees majoring in marine biology. I worked for NOAA as a Biological Science Technician in the Gulf of Mexico, a Research Technician for Texas Tech and the University of Texas studying membrane proteins responsible for a number of human diseases, and a Laboratory Technician IV at Rutgers University where I researched coral bleaching and larval development. I have a wide range of experience and knowledge in the sciences.
I also have extensive experience as an educator. I worked for a educational field trip company where we took grades K-12 on outdoor excursions throughout the state of Florida teaching local ecology and conservation biology. I also worked as a camp counselor for Camp Live Oak in Miami. Lastly I worked as a teaching assistant for Intro to Biology and Microbiology laboratory classes at Nova Southeastern University. I have experience working as a personal tutor teaching "Conversational English" to adults new to the United States, and Introduction to Biology for undergraduate students at Nova Southeastern University.
I know that many people have a hard time with science and because it is a subject that I LOVE I really try to make learning it easy and fun. I want to not only teach you but also inspire an interest in science that you may not have known you had!
