I'm very lucky to be gifted in foreign languages as well as English. I get along well with most young adults and children. I've been teaching for many years under various conditions. I can be flexible about hours though I do work as a substitute teacher during the school day.
I have been involved with education and teaching and tutoring since I was a college student at the City College of NY where I tutored reading to underprivileged grade school students.
Having minored in education I eventually got my education license here in New Mexico. I tutored a Spanish speaking boy in English for several months through a tutoring program and was successful at that. In addition to majoring in French in college, I studied Spanish at the Santa Fe Community College and at UNM. Then I worked at the college as a Spanish tutor for about five years. I also worked with at risk Native Americans in the schools at the elementary level for about five years and with success in improving their reading skills. I have a license in Modern and Classical Languages as well as a license in special education.
I have enjoyed playing the piano since I was a young girl and I have studied music theory in college. I have tutored young children in playing the piano.
I am also a published poet.
I offer teaching or tutoring in English, French and Spanish and in ESL. I have a strong academic and experiential background and can be flexible with my techniques.
Looking forward to working with you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a license to teach Special Education in New Mexico and I have worked with dyslexics in the public schools. I have also worked with Dyslexic Native Americans in the public schools here with some success.
I would be glad to answer any questions one might have.
I am licensed to teach k-8 in elementary schools in New Mexico. I have taught reading to Native Americans for over five years. This included English as well.
