Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I have received a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I pastured four churches over a period of 17 years. I now serve as a missionary.

I have taught Bible studies to individuals, small groups and congregations. I have taught in both English and Spanish. I have many years of such experience.

ESL/ESOL

I received an Educational Endorsement to my professional teaching license in ESL. I have taught on the secondary level as well as the college level in the United States.

Since 1998 I have traveled to Cuba, Belarus, Thailand and Ukraine teaching ESOL. I have been certified as a trainer to teach others how to teach ESL as well. I have taught classes as well as directed volunteer ESL programs.

Public Speaking

Having been both a public school teacher and a minister I have thirty years experience of public speaking. I excel in speaking to groups both large and small, not only on religious topics, but educational ones as well. I conduct public speaking in English and Spanish. I teach seminars on various topics.

I have taken college and seminary level classes on public speaking and sermon delivery. I put it into practice every week.

Religion

I have a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary which I earned in 1988. Since that time I have pastored several churches and taught in Seminary Extension classes and a junior college. I taught a class of Philosophy of Religion and one of Ethics at the junior college.

Currently I teach seminars on various religions, cults and sects. I also teach Seminary Extension classes currently. Current classes are "How to Understand the Bible" in English and "Systematic Theology" in Spanish

Spanish

I learned Spanish as a foreign language. I had to go through the formal process of learning, not just by picking it up through daily living. So I have learned the tenses formally. I have 30 hours of college Spanish, and I believe that I could help you understand the tenses you are concerned about.
