I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Common Core Mathematics Instruction for grades (K-6). Math is my passion. I also understand it is a subject that many students struggle with. My goal is to help your child love and understand math and how it works through the use of online tools, as well as manipulatives that they can touch.
I taught first grade during the 2012-2013 school year, and learned that hands-on activities played a crucial role in my students' development and understanding of math skills. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
