Hi, I'm Tess! I graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico where I majored in Psychology and minored in Anthropology with a concentration in Archaeology. I went on to obtain a masters degree from Grand Canyon University in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. I used this education in my work as an ABA therapist for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. As a nationally recognized and board certified autism technician I found great joy in helping my clients learn and explore the world around them. This experience led me to my passion; teaching!
I have three years of experience working with children in various teaching capacities, and a year and a half working with adults. I currently tutor for a small local company specializing in elementary age children, and a global company which assists adults learning English. I am enrolled, and very close to finishing my 120 hour TEFL teaching certificate from University of Toronto.
Because of my background in special education I know how important it is to tailor teaching methods to the individual. I am an advocate for the theory of multiple intelligences, a way of teaching that states everyone learns differently, and is brilliant at something! I am deeply passionate about helping students find that confidence within themselves in order to grow as students and as members of our community.
I welcome collaboration from parents and students, and respond quickly to inquiries. Please feel free to reach out with questions, or to schedule a session.
I have a minor in Archaeology from the University of New Mexico, and am interested and excited by this field.
At the University of New Mexico I studied in many different history classes as requisites for my major and minors in the humanities.
I am passionate about teaching and am working to make it my full time career. I welcome collaboration, suggestions and questions! Fee free to contact me and set up a session!
