I have been teaching elementary education in public schools in Albuquerque, Phoenix, Mexico, Japan, and United Arab Emirates for 14 years. I am very confident and experienced in all subject areas K-5 and comfortable in different curriculums and standards. I am currently teaching full time at APS as a specialist teacher. I am very confident and experienced in Teaching all kids from very diverse backgrounds and with diverse challenges. I firmly believe that every child has a wealth of knowledge within them, and sometimes need a guide to find it!

I have experience teaching and tutoring ESL, English language development, Spanish, reading, math, and social studies. My strong traits are patience, kindness, and attention to detail. I enjoy finding engaging and relevant ways to encourage students to understand concepts and apply them to their learning. I have many interests including aerial yoga, hiking, snowboarding, learning languages, and travel.

I am certified K-5 and am currently teaching common core using stepping stones math curriculum. I also have experience teaching Eureka math curriculum. I find using visual aids and manipulatives help students understand abstract concepts.

I am a certified teacher with experience teaching the state standards and engaging hands on science that is both fun and educational!

I have a B.S. in elementary education with a minor in TESOL. I am currently a level 3 NM certified K-8 teacher with an endorsement in TESOL. I have been teaching ESL my entire teaching career. This experience helps me to be a more effective teacher using many visual aids and scaffolding to help my students understand their grade level concepts.
