I have over 15 years of Biology, Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry tutoring experience. I have a PhD in Organic Chemistry and obtained 2 Bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Biology. I have over 15 years of Biology, Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry tutoring experience. I have a PhD in Organic Chemistry and obtained 2 Bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Biology. I have worked with students of all ages, from middle school science and math level to students taking advanced Organic Chemistry courses at Harvard. I have a true passion for teaching and tutoring, and have done so as a career for the past 15 years. However, I have found working with students one-on-one is the most rewarding part of teaching because I'm there to watch the "Eureka!" learning moment happen, which brought me here to Wyzant. I am an 8 time published scientist, currently possess 1 patent, and graduated summa cum laude. I began my tutoring career during my own undergraduate education, tutoring other undergraduate students and high school biology and chemistry, and since then have amassed hundreds of great worksheets, practice exams, even actual old exam archives etc. to help with your studies. My favorite part about tutoring is getting you excited about science and becoming confident with your skills, because it is so cool to apply science to everyday life!

I have been tutoring professionally for over 12 years. My first experience tutoring was actually in middle school tutoring Elementary Math and Science. I went on to obtain my PhD in chemistry, which if you don't already know, involved lots of math! I know all of the long methods to teach the Elementary Math thoroughly, but also lots of helpful tricks to make the subject more approachable and fun. As a chemist all my problems are word problems, and those can be frustrating at first for students, but with my help we can break it down so its just like any regular problem. I am happy to meet with any parent about online tutoring.

I love getting the chance to work with a young person in science, I am great at getting anyone, especially children, excited about science, and the best part about that is that makes it fun to learn! In middle school I had the most wonderful opportunity to start working as an elementary tutor for reading and science. I, of course, went on to get a PhD in Chemistry but have always loved tutoring and working with children. I worked as a gymnastics coach for kids ages 4-16 during college (almost all 12 years of it!) and got great experience working with children and often had the opportunity to tutor them through homework problems and often times science experiments. I am happy to meet with any parent to discuss how an online lesson would work.

I graduated with my PhD in Chemistry with a heavy biochemistry emphasis. I was working in a biochemistry lab on a molecular biophysics fellowship, this allowed me to immerse myself in biochemistry and learn the subject very well. In particular as a former organic chemistry professor I can easily help you in the transition to Biochemistry topics and understanding the similarities in study habits.
