Active in the environmental engineering and sciences area since 1962, I have worked primarily on water resource (quality and quantity), water pollution and water management issues as well as planning, operations, and management of hazardous and radioactive waste. My major projects include protection of the water quality of the Great Lakes and high mountain lakes; the definition and solution of groundwater pollution issues; environmental, health, and safety requirements and plans; and radioactive waste management programs for the federal government.
Additional areas of experience include development and presentation of briefings to both regulatory agencies and the general public, planning and implementation of environmental projects, and quality assurance.
Having been involved in the implementation of environmental protection and compliance since the initiation of the major national programs (Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Superfund, etc.) by the federal government, I have detailed knowledge of the purpose, intent, and requirements of today's rules and regulations and how to most effectively and efficiently achieve compliance.
For civil engineering, my background includes both water resources planning and water pollution control operations. The focus is on data evaluation and generation of plans and reports.
Fifty years of experience will provide you with both good guidance and direction for developing a logical and complete approach to a problem or assignment and then to the clear presentation and defense of your work. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a bachelor's and master's degree in civil engineering as well as continuing education in environmental engineering.
My experience over 46 years since I received my Master's degree in the Civil Engineering field has ranged from classic engineering assignments to management of engineering projects.
As a project and program manager, I have mentored (effectively tutored) numerous young engineers and scientists regarding the additional requirements and expectations of their positions of employment.
A major focus has been to tutor new engineers and scientists in the formulation and presentation of their work in a clear, comprehensive, and understandable manner - written or verbal.
