I majored in Chinese and Spanish in college. I can teach the proper use of grammar, spelling, and reading to help students in their classes. I also teach proper pronunciation of the the Spanish language. I have had Monica for about 4 months helping me prepare for a college Spanish class. She is very kind and patient and really great to work with. The thing I like the best about Monica is that she is really good at making the student feel really comfortable from day one. She is also really patient so when I am not getting something I don't get flustered because of her patience. Monica is very conversational and makes tutoring an enjoyable experience. Monica has been an excellent tutor for my son who was in Spanish II at PLVSHS. Normally an A student, my son was struggling due to what I will describe as an uncaring/defensive teacher. Monica has been a Godsend, she is passionate about foreign language and making sure that her students understand both the grammar and vocabulary. She was able to work with the class online book/material my son was provided, while adding her own instruction such as helping him look for key words to know which form of grammar was needed. She is invested in the students and she celebrated alongside him with each good grade. She went above and beyond by meeting with his teacher and I, so that we could try and understand the issues he was having on the tests. We met with Monica approximately once per week from October to May, and she was able to bring his grade up from a D- to a B- by the end of the year.
