I love teaching and being a firsthand witness to the academic and personal growth of a student. I have worked with students of varied grade levels for the past 15 years, and look forward to expanding that experience.
In addition to being a licensed educator, I am an experienced performer in stage and film, which includes a background in directing, playwriting, and acting. I have also taught remedial reading and math; Language Arts, English as a Second Language for Spanish speakers; Spanish and Theatre Arts.
I am flexible, enthusiastic, and welcome feedback that will improve and enhance my skills as your teacher. Although I teach, I learn from my students as well.

Group rates are $15 per student, per hour; for multiple hour lessons, rate will drop to $20 an hour after the first hour.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a public school licensed educator who has completed the college courses required to teach English. My teacher's license also has an endorsement attached stating that I am eligible to teach secondary language arts.
I have completed the college level coursework to teach English language arts which includes a grammar component. Furthermore, I am a licensed educator in the state of NM and have a secondary education endorsement attached to my educator's license.
I have completed 18 undergraduate credits in public speaking which qualified as a minor; the credits are listed on both my undergraduate diploma and transcript.
This subject overlaps with theatre arts since students learn monologues, character work, and performance skills when they take a theatre class with me.
I am a Mexican American who grew up speaking, reading, writing and translating Spanish; I also have college level courses, and and endorsement to teach Spanish at the secondary level from the State of NM Public Education Department. This endorsement is added to my current teaching license.
Theatre Arts was my major in college. I was required to take acting, stage and costume crafts; directing; make-up; lighting and stage design, and independent studies involving solo performance. In addition, throughout the years, I have acquired stage, film and playwriting experience.
