The University of New Mexico (Master's)
Hello, my name is Lydia and I have been working with children ages 6 months to 12 years in early childhood education for 7 years now. I have a bachelors and masters from the University of New Mexico in special education. I have some student teaching experience in special education grades 2nd-5th and with 6th grade general education students. I currently teach kindergarten students in a general education setting. My teaching philosophy is that every student has the right to feel a sense of belonging in their classroom and community as well as the opportunity to grow socially and academically with their peers. I strive to provide these opportunities through consistent, enthusiastic teaching with a positive attitude and high expectations. It is my belief that the parents are students number one teachers and I only assist in their growth both socially and academically. I believe in advocating for students and families when appropriate by providing necessary resources and encouragement. Teaching has always been my passion and I have a love for learning. It is my desire to pass that along to every student I have the pleasure of working with.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
