As an instructor in the United States Navy, I achieved the highest level of recognition by becoming a Master Training Specialist. I continued my career of teaching after I retired from the Navy, and worked as an instructor at ITT Technical Institute, receiving numerous awards during my tenure there, including Instructor of the Year, and Employee of the Year. I am proud to declare my proficiency as a teacher who not only has expertise in his knowledge of the subject matter, but has the ability to bring this knowledge home to the students in a manner that is understandable and fun. This expertise and teaching ability is what I gladly offer to those who want to expand their knowledge.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have played and coached baseball and softball since I was in little league in the 1960's. I sponsored and acted as player/coach for the ITT Tech school softball teams for over 12 years.
I have been playing basketball since elementary school. I have been a high school player and have played pick-up basketball throughout my life. I organized and participated in basketball tournaments for over 12 years while at ITT Technical Institute.
I have enjoyed the game of Chess for many years. I was a member of the Chess team in high school and while deployed overseas on a naval destroyer, I won the ship's Chess tournament. I understand the abilities of all the pieces used in the game and the types of strategies used in competition.
While an instructor at ITT Technical Institute for almost 20 years, I taught several varieties of computer programming including C and C++, Visual Basic, machine code and assembly languages, PLC programing, and DOS batch files.
While in the US Navy for 20 years and as an Instructor at ITT Technical Institute for 18 years, I utilized and taught the DOS operating systems and associated syntax as well as creation and manipulation of batch files.
I have played and coached football since I was in elementary school. I played both offense and defense and served as the punter for my high school teams, and acted as an assistant coach for YAFL teams here in Albuquerque and as a coach for flag football teams at ITT Technical Institute. I am an avid Fantasy Football player.
I have played the game of golf for over 40 years. I am aware of the rules of golf and proper etiquette to be used while playing. I am familiar with the different shaft materials used and the distances generally achieved from each club.
As an Instructor at ITT Technical Institute for over 18 years I taught students the various uses and design of MS Access on many occasions.
During my time as an instructor at ITT Technical Institute, I taught application classes in many areas. MS Outlook was one of several Office Suite products that I taught. In addition, the program that was utilized for office communications, planning and organization was MS Outlook, so I have been using and teaching this program for many years.
During my tenure of almost 20 years as an instructor at ITT Technical Institute, I taught the Capstone course on numerous occasions. The main objective of the course was creating a project and completing it in the time allotted. The program we used to teach the students time management and organization was MS Project. I am well versed in the use and operation of this software.
During my tenure as an instructor at ITT Technical Institute, I taught many operating system classes, from DOS to Windows 3.1, 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP and 7. I have shown students how to use MS Windows for almost 20 years.
During my tenure at ITT Technical Institute, I taught many networking classes, with certifications in CNST, and DCI. I have taught students the basics of setting up a network, cabling considerations, and the operation and maintenance of a Windows network with Active Directory and SQL.
I recently retired as an instructor at ITT Technical Institute and have spoken in front of people my whole life. I am personable, outgoing, educated and comical. I am very comfortable with public speaking and would gladly share my knowledge.
During my tenure as an instructor at ITT Technical Institute, one of the courses that I taught on many occasions was Intro to Programming. The course was specific to the Python\Raptor programming language and I taught that course to our students on several occasions. I utilize real-world scenarios in my teaching and always strive to make the learning environment fun and relevant.
I have been an educator for over 30 years and have received numerous awards regarding my teaching ability, including being selected as the instructor of the year from the New Mexico Association of Private Schools.
During my time as an instructor at ITT Technical Institute, for 10 years I ran the sports programs at the school, and was a player/manager of the school softball teams. In addition, I have played on softball teams in the US Navy.
I have a great deal of experience in education and educating. I have received many awards throughout the years in the field of education and teaching, including being recognized as the instructor of the year by the New Mexico Association of Private Schools. My hourly rate is flexible depending on your needs and circumstances.
I have been a swimmer since early childhood. I was a member of the swimming team in high school, worked as a lifeguard for several years, served as a Sea and Rescue swimmer in the US Navy, and have taught swimming/surfboarding on both coasts.
I have played tennis from an early age, being a member of the tennis team in high school. I played on several tennis teams in the US Navy, and have continued to play tennis actively for 35 years. I most recently won the senior mixed doubles championship at a local tennis club.
During my tenure as an instructor at ITT Technical Institute for almost 20 years, I taught both the introductory course of Visual Basic, but also the advanced course which concentrated on database management. I have used VB5, VB6, and VB Net including SQL.
As the sports coordinator at ITT Technical Institute for over 13 years, I served as the player/manager for the school volleyball team, winning three summer championships. In addition, I helped develop and implement a volleyball arena and supervised volleyball leagues for several years.
