In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was born and raised in the former Soviet Union. Russian is my first spoken language. I was learning it at school and have a real passion in teaching Russian language to the students for whom it will be a foreign language. I'd like to share with my students all cultural wealth of Russian language and literature, and I know how to do it, because I had to learn another language, English, and know about the differences of grammar of these two languages.
I am also currently Level Twoo Professional Lisence with Endorsements in Language Arts and TESOL.
I am currently working on my Special Ed.License and hope to complete it by Christmas. I took classes in Special Ed. at New Mexico Highlands University and completed the course work in this field in addition to my Professional Language Arts-TESOL teaching License.
At the same time I worked as a Special Ed.Teacher at Rio Rancho MidHigh School, and, later - at Garfield Middle School in self-contained classroom, teaching all subjects for students with special needs. During the summer I also worked at school in a classroom of students with severe disabilities and loved this part of special ed., since every day I had an opportunity to help children.
