Rowan University (Spanish)
I have been working most recently as an ESL instructor and training curriculum developer, but language training and education is my passion. Having worked as a medical interpreter between Farsi and English, a language tutor for several world languages, and a training program developer for both language and professional skills, I always look forward to working with new students to help them reach their academic or professional goals.
Though language is my specialty, I also have a great deal of experience in business skills training. This has included preparing students for negotiations, presentations, interviews, and meeting facilitation. My focus is always on the specific goal of the student, and ensuring that they not only learn the material or techniques, but are confident using them.
I have worked as a language instructor in different capacities for over 11 years and in various environments, each presenting their own specific needs. While at University, I tutored students in German, Russian, Spanish, French, and English. Since then I have worked as an English instructor in both Russia and Japan, teaching children, teens, and adults English for both causal and business uses.
My variety of ESL and foreign language education experiences gives me a flexibility and ability to adapt my methods for each student that many tutors lack.
I have studied Farsi, German, Russian, Spanish, and French through the university level. I graduated with high honors from Rowan University with a bachelor's degree in Spanish with a minors in French, German, and Romance languages. I have also used both Farsi and Spanish professionally as a medical and legal interpreter.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Having worked as an ESL instructor for both adults and children, I am adept at identifying and correcting vocabulary and grammar mistakes. My teaching experience has afforded me the opportunity to develop concise grammar explanations for students.
I have worked both in Russia and Japan as an ESL instructor for children and adults. I specialize in working with small groups or pairs to help practice natural conversational exercises.
I completed an intensive 1 year university level program in Persian Farsi at the Defense Language institute in Monterey California (transcripts available upon request). At the end of my program I was awarded for the highest academic performance of my class.
After graduating, I continued to work as a Farsi>English translator for 4 years in the military, and as a medical and legal interpreter for from 2009 to 2014 in Philadelphia
