As an undergraduate student at Penn State University, I worked as a private instructor for GradePeak, where I tutored other college students in their advanced mathematics, statistics, economics, and computer science courses. I assisted my students in reviewing their notes, completing their assignments, preparing for exams, and most importantly, understanding the course material. Additionally, I was a Learning Assistant for my mechanical physics class, where I facilitated a class of over 300 students by helping the students combat the problems presented to them during the lecture. For this role, I also held weekly office hours to aid the struggling students in comprehending the difficult concepts from calculus-based physics.
Tutoring students not only provides me the opportunity to assist students in achieving their full potential in class and gain the necessary confidence to excel in self-teaching, but also the joy of connecting with a student on a personal level and witnessing firsthand their evolution from struggling in certain areas to masterfully being able to tackle problems on their own.
As a Penn State graduate with a degree in applied mathematics, I was enrolled in a curriculum that stressed the behind-the-scenes derivations of the myriad of mathematical principles and formulas. Therefore, with such a curriculum as my background and my experience in tutoring college students, I am able to explain difficult mathematical concepts using analogies relevant to the students' hobbies or interests, thus helping them to grasp the concepts in a fun way that they can relate to.
Please contact me to schedule a lesson. I am free on weekends and after 5 pm on weekdays. I look forward to meeting and hearing from you!
