Hi! My name is Kristina. I have been teaching in a public school district for 10 years. I have taught multiple grade levels here, including PreK, kindergarten, and first grade. I also have experience working with children ages 5 to 12 in a variety of other settings, including summer camps and enrichment camps.
I have tutored students in grades PreK through 4th both in school and private settings. I enjoy working with children ages 3 to 12. My favorite subjects are language arts, reading, and math. Please contact me if your child is in need of tutoring! I am available Monday - Thursday from 3:45 - 4:30 (start times). I am also looking to tutor this summer. My summer hours will be Monday - Thursday with a start time between 9am and 12pm. Thank you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been teaching phonics throughout my course of a classroom teacher in the public school system I currently work for. I have also tutored children in this area. I have used several approaches to teaching phonics, including Pearson curriculums (Words Their Way, PLAID) and Orton Gillingham/Wilson models.
