My name is Megan and I would love the opportunity to tutor your child! I have a degree in Early Childhood Development, have taught pre-school/Kindergarten.
I have had the opportunity to work with children of preschool and elementary school ages, as well as having been a nanny for a middle school student with developmental disabilities. I am the mother of three children ages 6-11 and feel that my experience as a mother enables me to understand and identify with the children, but also with the parents. I feel that my education and experience mixed with my ability to keep children engaged and excited about learning are what make me an ideal candidate for tutoring. I am patient, creative, and caring. I maintain a positive and upbeat attitude and am very reliable.
Every child learns differently. The key is to find out what learning method is best for your child and then engage in that method to help them learn and grow as students. I believe in making learning fun and helping children with their problem solving skills. I would love the opportunity to help your child. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
