She's been helping my niece to have her confidence in English reading. Deborah understands the needs of a student and guides her very well. Her class is well organized and planned, and I like her homework given to my niece! Highly recommend ESL teacher.
Deborah is a very patient and expericed tutor. She helped my daughter about vocabulary expansion, grammar learning. She also recommended books to my daughter that is what we wanted exactly. We are very glad that she would be our tutor.
Deborah is FANTASTIC! For Praxis I, I struggled so much with the Reading portion. As soon as I had a few sessions with Deborah, I passed the exam the next time I took it. For Praxis II 5038, I tried to study on my own and was unable to pass the exam. Once I started having weekly sessions with Deborah, she not only helped me understand where I needed to focus the most/what was challenging for me, but she also boosted my confidence! The next time I took the exam, my scores went up TWENTY points and I passed. Personally, being someone with learning disabilities and someone who has always struggled with reading comprehension, Deborah helped me really break down the passages I had to read to truly comprehend what I was reading. I would HIGHLY recommend her - best tutor I have ever had.
It was nice to meet Deborah, and I felt she was well organized and truly wants to help me out in passing my Praxis exam. I feel lucky to have Deborah help me in essay writing and grammar. Thank you.
My son is a 10th grader and didn't enjoy reading before having Mrs. Deborah as his tutor. Mrs. Deborah chose books carefully according to his interests, and improved his ability to read deeply. Recently, he has shown interest in reading, and bought a book for casual reading for the first time in his life. His grade in language arts has also improved since the tutoring started. We are very pleased with the progress and appreciate Mrs. Deborah's personalized teaching.
Very experienced tutor. Deborah tutored both of our 9th graders. Deborah is patient, compassionate and comes prepared. Deborah knows her subject matter. She helped my daughter improved her grades.
Deborah was my tutor for the English Praxis; she gave me an immense amount of help. I had taken the Praxis a number of times and was still having trouble getting the few extra points I needed to receive a passing score. Deborah laid out everything I needed to know and provided me with information that I could study from. With Deborah's extensive knowledge in English, study materials, and my own hard work I finally passed the Praxis. I would definitely recommend Deborah as a tutor. She is professional, prompt, and patient.
Deborah is without a doubt the best tutor I've had. She is patient and always willing to devote her time to helping me with any problem I have, regardless if it is on her time or not. She is in many ways the English teacher I've desperately needed this year and I'm so glad I've had her to guide me before my exams.
Deborah is an amazing tutor! I highly recommend her to anybody who is struggling with any sort of Language Arts (elementary, middle and high school) issues. She is has great study technique, is extremely fluent in all genres, and has read hundreds of authors and remembers almost all of them! I worked with Deborah over the past few weeks, she is always on time, always near her phone to respond to any of the questions I struggled with while I studied. She is prompt, patient, nice, and above all, professional.
Deborah has been tutoring my son for a few weeks now. The sessions have been informal, yet still challenging. This is an important aspect as my son was initially apprehensive about the idea of being tutored. However, he has been completing the homework he gets, and even works a little harder to quickly finish the books he's reading. There is no question that his resolve to work this hard is due to a friendly learning environment, and his respect for Deborah.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
