I work for an interior design company in the product development of home accessories, and I am also an experienced Chinese teacher. I was born and raised in China and came to New York three years ago to study the Fashion Certificate program at Parsons. At the same time, I also help people who need to learn Chinese in my spare time. My students are mainly two, five, and ten years old, including my college friends. While teaching Chinese, I pay more attention to cultivate their interest in Chinese.

As a journalism graduate, I have a good knowledge of The Chinese language and vocabulary

During the two years as a tutor, I taught a number of preschoolers a few words of Chinese at the beginning, and then their Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing skills were improved comprehensively. It has been one of my main teaching goals to get the most out of two hours of study a week. Therefore, before each class, I will carefully design some simple and interesting games and activities in combination with the teaching content, so that the children can learn Chinese in a happy and relaxed environment, like Chinese. For example, when learning antonyms, I designed a board game called "Water Park" based on the antonyms in the text. Students learned Chinese characters while playing chess, and understood the meaning of antonyms through the pictures in the board. In addition, learn to introduce "my family", in addition to let the students know the family name, but also to let the students know how to do considerate family members care about the family, understand the preferences of everyone in the family and so on. In addition, when learning the word "face", students understand that this word is often used together with the words indicating the direction, such as the top, left, east, etc. In class, we wrote down the names of all kinds of pasta through origami activities, so that the students could understand the Chinese food culture, and the students were very interested.
