B.S, The College of New Jersey, Ewing, NJ (Biomedical Engineer)
I recently graduated from The College of New Jersey's Biomedical Engineering program with a Mechanical Engineering concentration. I was born and raised in Voorhees, New Jersey. I love mathematics and sciences, and believe everybody has the capability of learning and succeeding with a bit of guidance and motivation. I have a strong foundation in fundamentals of mathematics/arithmetic/problem solving, and I believe my passion for these subjects allow me to effectively teach others.
I believe the best way to learning any subject, especially math and science, is to have a strong understanding the underlying concepts. For teaching a student a specific course, I find working through a good coursebook to be highly effective (whether that is the student's textbook/workbook they are using in class or one that I can personally recommend). I begin student's with pre-tests to gauge their knowledge of the topic and make sure to begin at an appropriate level so they understand topics as we move on and build off of prerequisite topics. Coursebooks provide information, examples, and practice problems for each topic included in a given math or science class.
I believe positive reinforcement is the best approach to teaching, I am friendly and incredibly patient with my students.
I have experience working at a top ranked tutoring center, providing tutoring to students of all ages on topics of mathematics and science. This includes arithmetic, numeration, pre-algebra, algebra I & II, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, physics, chemistry, biology, and SAT Math.
I previously worked as an assistant teacher at my synagogue providing individual 1 on 1 lessons with students helping them learn to read Hebrew. I have worked for several years as a camp counselor and babysitting, I work well with children. I volunteered in a tutoring program at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, teaching fundamental mathematics to local Trenton residents. I also volunteered in a tutoring program through my fraternity where I tutored college students in various college level Math and Science courses.
I have completed high level mathematics courses, including Calculus A/B/C, and Differential Calculus 1&2. Additionally, I have completed science courses including general and cell biology, general and organic chemistry, and physics courses. I have taken mechanical and biomedical engineering courses that combine mathematics and sciences such as thermodynamics, statics & dynamics, cardiovascular fluid mechanics, biomechanics, and more.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have significant experience tutoring students that are preparing to take the math section of the SAT's. Through experience, I have become familiarized with the topics and types of questions covered on the SAT math sections. I can identify specific topics individual students need to improve upon based on practice tests and provide recommendations, and offer useful SAT Math test taking strategies.
