I am a teacher of 30 years with a wide variety of expertise. I have taught Basic Skills Instruction for elementary age students for 25 years. I taught 1st grade for 5 years and 3rd grade for 3 years. I also taught Hebrew School- all subjects including music and dance for 20 plus years.
I am the choral and drama director at my school. I work with ages K-5 from vocals, stage and choreography.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, with certifications in: Nursery School, Elementary, Reading Recovery, Supervision and Curriculum Development. I minored in Music and have taught piano, voice and theory for 20 plus years.
I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Supervision and a degree as a Reading Recovery Teacher.
I recently completed training for Orton-Gillingham and have certification for working and screening students who may show signs of Dyslexia.
I am the President of the Reading Council for Southern New Jersey. As President, I recently was honored in Oklahoma and Texas for raising $80,000 for the state of NJ in Free Books for New Jersey Shore Schools.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been trained by the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education in the Orton-Gillingham approach to teach children with dyslexia how to read. I completed the 30-hour IMSE Orton-Gillingham Multi-Sensory Training on November 13, 2015. Prior to this training, I was using the Barton Reading and Spelling System, which is an Orton-Gillingham Influenced simultaneously multisensory explicit and systematic Phonics program. I have been screening and training teachers on the screening process in my public school setting.
I have taught elementary education for 28 years. The majority of my expertise is in the Basic Skills program, RTI instruction. My focus is on the primary grades K-2, in which I am a certified Reading Recovery Teacher. I hold a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Supervision which enables me to keep abreast of the common core standards in education.
I have taught Hebrew School for 30 years at various synagogues in the local area. I have taught all grades K-12. I am skilled in reading, writing, history and the curriculum taught in a reform or conservative setting. I also have extensive knowledge with Israeli music and dance. I also have worked as administrator of a Hebrew School.
I am a certified Reading Recovery Teacher with a Master Degree in Curriculum and Supervision. I have taught for 27 plus years in the public school system grades K-8 with a focus on K-2.
I studied classical piano for 20 years. I was a music major at Rutgers University, and my instrument was piano. I have taught piano lessons periodically through the last 30 years.
I am certified in Reading Recovery.
I have my masters in Supervision and Curriculum Development.
I was the past president of the Reading Council of Southern NJ and current board member of RCSNJ and New Jersey Association of Literacy Development.
As choral director of an elementary school, I am immersed in the theatre productions which occur at my school. Each year I produce a talent show for the students, choreographing the various musical production from vocal coaching to dance.
I have worked with the local theatre in my town and have been a cast member in several productions.
I have participated in choral groups for the past 30 years. I am currently the Choral Director of an elementary school of 800 students. I coordinate and perform 2-3 concerts each year.
