Hi! I’m Judy and I’d love to be your tutor. I specialize in reading, writing, literature and medicine.
I’m a recently retired pediatrician and found teaching and mentoring to be a fulfilling part of my work. During my career as a physician I enjoyed helping children and families understand how to take care of their health. I also helped medical students apply what they learned in the classroom to the practice of medicine. I have worked with all ages, small children to adults and am comfortable with 1:1 learning and group learning.
•Trained and worked in adult literacy and ESL
•Mentored medical students and residents in practical application of medicine and career development
Education and work history:
•Studied nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse for 10 years
•BA in English and Pre-Med
•MD and worked as a Pediatrician for 30 years
Please feel free to send me a message if you'd like to learn more about me.
Thanks for reading,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Since April, 2013 I have been tutoring adult learners in English and elementary level math at the local Easter Seals. Since November 2013 I have been doing substitute teaching in middle school primarily focusing on language arts and special education. Additionally I have a BA in English.
