Hi, I'm Priyanka! I am a first-year medical student at the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences. I graduated from the George Washington University with a 4.0 GPA as part of the 7-year BA/MD Program with a major in Biology and minor in Public Health.

I have significant experience (5 years) tutoring and mentoring high school and college students. For example, as a youth mentor for YWCA, I coordinated monthly EmpowerGirls sessions for teen girls in the DC area. These sessions exposed the girls to STEM workshops to promote academic success and social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.

I am well-versed in the subjects I tutor. I received an 800 on the Chemistry and Math II Subject SATs; a 5 on AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Calculus BC; and 1540 on the SAT. I was also awarded Excellence in AP Chemistry, Excellence in Algebra II, and Excellence in Precalculus out of my high school graduating class of 265 students.

My tutoring approach is based on detailed, foundational learning. My lessons are structured and effective with time built in for practice problems and review. For long-term students, I create detailed timelines with the student/parent. I also thoroughly assess how the student learns best and guide them in experimenting with various study techniques. I have finetuned my study techniques for the subjects I tutor, so I am willing to provide example study guides and notes. I hope my efforts will help the student in other classes as well. Of course, my teaching methods will be flexible to best accommodate the student's needs.

I am flexible with price/timings and open to one-time or recurring sessions. To make sessions as beneficial as possible, I would appreciate it if the student could inform me of the specific content and/or questions before our meeting. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!

Very responsive and helpful!

After several introductory zoom sessions with tutors, I decided to go with Priyanka as my biology tutor. She was always willing to take extra classes with me when I had a test, or needed extra help and was very responsive and reliable. As a college student herself, she was flexible in timings which was especially important as we were in different time zones. She was very helpful in helping me understand the material and went at the pace I needed to be able to understand every aspect of the content. She gave me great acronyms and ways to remember important details and also threw in some interesting facts that enhanced my interest in Biology. With my school biology teacher who wasn’t good at lecturing, I was able to pass the class with an A because of Priyanka. I would definitely recommend her as a tutor, especially for biology.

Patient and Knowledgeable.

We went over our first lesson of Organic Chemistry. She helped me get refreshed on Orgo since it has been years since I last took it. She was very patient with me and she makes things very easy to understand. I would definitely recommend.

Friendly and Patient

I'm really glad I chose Priyanka as my tutor. It's nice to have someone around my age to help me out, it feels more like a friendly study session rather than a daunting tutoring session. She also explains things a lot better than my professor has ever done.

Very knowledgeable and patient tutor

It was such a pleasure to work with Priyanka. She helped me with a genetics class I was taking this summer. The class was very fast paced and Priyanka knew exactly how to quickly explain all the concepts. I higly recommend her

knowledgeable and patient tutor who suits her student's needs well

Priyanka is a wonderful tutor. She is responsive, extremely helpful with whatever assignment you need help with, and very patient if you need someone to slowly explain concepts and examples to you. She helped me with an epidemiology homework assignment and taught me about different biases, confounding, and how to read an epidemiology paper. I feel much more confident with some of the concepts she gave me examples for. Really recommend Priyanka as a tutor!
