Given my love of language, I specifically love to see people find their own personal reason for learning a second language; whether it be reading original writings, exchanging conversation with people from different countries or even getting a good grade. I try to find what it is about the language that can motivate them to go beyond memorizing for an exam.
I strive to make learning a world language interesting and relevant to the bigger picture. I support language learning with the use of thematic units and frequent use of authentic web projects and activities. I love to expand a student’s vision of the world and show them why learning a world language is relevant to the bigger picture. In addition to exposure to other cultures, it also enhances lifelong career advancement.
I taught German at Northern Burlington High School (NBHS) for the last 6 years.
I work hard to bring the language to life using a variety of teaching and learning methods; where the use of technology and the sharing of ideas and resources are encouraged. Reading, writing, speaking and listening comprehension are integrated into various methodologies and strategies to involve and motivate all students to learn use and the language.
With all the new technology and access to so much information, it’s exciting to explore the many language opportunities that exist. I like to use technology to explore language, culture and even history that can help build the student’s language skills while adding to their knowledge of the world around them. I strive to motivate students to do their best.
Feel free to contact me if you want to learn German! Given my love of language, I specifically love to see people find their own personal reason for learning a second language; whether it be reading original writings, exchanging conversation with people from different countries or
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
