My skills range from teaching K-5 computer class to leading professional development on how to enhance core content instruction using technology. Not only do I have a strong technology background, but I also have a I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration. I am highly experienced in educational technology, but I am also highly proficient in teaching all core content areas to students with a wide range of abilities at all grade levels. My skill set includes utilizing a variety of educational programs and resources such as McGraw-Hill Treasures, Everyday Mathematics, Focus Math, Fountas and Pinnell Literacy Intervention Program.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a classroom teacher, basic skills instructor and tutor for a K-5 public school I align all of my lessons to the Common Core Standards for Math and Language Arts Literacy. The standards are used to set clear expectations for all students and to help students develop critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills. My lessons always support the Common Core standards and incorporate problem solving and inquiry to ensure student understanding .
