Excellent and very good with students who have different learning styles. I highly recommend her for students who are struggling in algebra.
Ellen has been helping my daughter with middle school math (algebra) for a while now, and she has an excellent approach. She does a great job communicating the subject matter (and reinforces key learning along the way). My daughter is much more comfortable with algebra after working with Ellen, she has more confidence with taking exams and quizzes, and her grades reflect that. I highly recommend Ellen as a math tutor.
My daughter loved Ellen and can't wait to see her again (to do math! So that is saying something!). Ellen was very observant and helpful to my daughter and shared some great tips for me to help out too. Very knowledgeable about learning differences and IEPs. We look forward to continuing with Ellen!!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
