Our daughter tutored with Avi for SAT preparation. Despite Avi's math bent, he was able to help her a lot with reading/writing also and tips on how to take the SAT, such as budgeting your time and answering questions intelligently when you're not sure what the answer is. Our results are in and she was accepted at Caltech! We're very happy with his work and will be using him again for our younger daughter.

Avi is truly amazing. His patience is stellar, his knowledge thorough, his approach motivating -- moreover he commanded the respect of my son who is an excellent student but was allergic to standardized test-prep. Avi made my son's progress to a very good test score not just painless but also FUN.

Moreover, Avi and my son worked successfully together both in person during our Winter Break and then via Skype after we returned to England, further highlighting Avi's tremendous adaptability. Forever grateful!

Thank you!

I am an "A" student but I was struggling in Honors Algebra. It didn't make sense to me. After studying A LOT for a couple of quizzes but getting low grades, my mom found Avi to help. Avi has explained Algebra to me so I am not just trying to memorize formulas. I see why I am doing the problems and how to check my answers. I have gotten an "A+" on my last three tests and it's nice understanding what I am doing! Thanks Avi!

Avi has been working with my 13 year old son over the summer and has greatly improved his understanding of the subject. Avi is very knowledgeable, patient and sensitive. This has enabled my son to increase his skills tremendously and build his confidence in the subject. Avi is an experienced teacher which allowed him to quickly hone in on my son's weaknesses. He has been very easy to schedule with and has been very sensitive to my son's emotional needs. I highly recommend Avi without reservation to anybody who is looking for a top notch tutor for their child.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
