About Nick

Being a student myself, I know firsthand the difficulties that students have when trying to grasp a concept. Curiosity is essential to learning, and I can make math and science relevant and hook my student's curiosity.

A little about me: I'm a 2012 graduate from the University of Richmond majoring in Physics and minoring in Math. I now attend Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine looking to pursue Physical Medicine and Rehab.

I've been tutoring for about 10 years now and I am quite good at explaining ideas so that students can "see" how things work. I am able to get my students to understand difficult concepts.

If you or your son/daughter is curious enough, I am confident I will be able to help you understand these fields better which will undoubtedly raise your scores and equally as importantly, get you to like the subject.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Linear Algebra

I majored in physics and minored in math, both of which required extensive knowledge of linear algebra. Eigenvalues of matrices, linearization/triangularization, and solving differential and algebraic systems of matrices were some of the things that we needed to be proficient with in order to graduate.

MCAT

I am finishing my first year of medical school. I received a 13 on the physical sciences section of the MCAT. I am exceptionally proficient in guiding the thought process required for problem solving, which is what medical schools look for in prospective students.

Nursing

I am a 3rd year medical student well-versed in all the basic sciences that would be required to work in a hospital. I've also been working in a hospital and doctor's offices for the past year so I have a decent amount of clinical exposure as well.

Nutrition

I am in medical school currently and I have taken courses in biochemistry and physiology with specific lectures on nutrition and how it affects our body. We have extensively covered how carbohydrates, fatty acids, and proteins are digested by the body and what can occur if there is an imbalance in their intake. We have also looked in-depth at how exercise in conjunction with proper eating is the keystone to good health.
