I graduated from Seton Hall University with B.S. in Biology and plan to matriculate to medical school this summer. I have found that in college, even the most frustrating of classes can be made ten times better when the professor has flexible office hours, demonstrates enthusiasm for the subject, acts as an empathetic listener, and adds a bit of humor to lower the stress of an otherwise difficult subject. I try to bring this type of teaching style to my tutoring approach, making it my priority to connect to those I tutor and cater to their unique style of learning. I usually begin lesson plans with a fun and engaging introduction to the subject matter before a more explicit lecturing onto related material and practice. I always make sure to give students time to ask questions and practice the material at their own pace. Furthermore, I am extremely flexible to adapting my teaching style to the particular needs of each student.

Beyond providing free tutoring to my colleagues at Seton Hall to aid them in their college-related coursework, I have thorough leadership experience in student mentorship and advocacy, empowering Seton Hall students to achieve their highest potential. As Co-Founder and Co-President of Health Occupations Students of America-Future Health Professionals, I run pre-health professions workshops, community health and service initiatives, public health campaigns, and certification training such as CPR certification classes for Seton Hall students. I also Co-Founded and am acting Chair of the Advising and Career Counseling to Empower Students for Success (ACCESS) Initiative for the Dean’s Undergraduate Student Council. In this role, I lead workshops to support students to achieve their academic and career-related goals. Through these positions, I have shown initiative to help support the students around me as well as have further strengthened my skills in being an empathetic listener and motivator for them to succeed.

Biology

Graduating Summa Cum Laude from Seton Hall University with a 3.99 cumulative GPA and a 4.0 BCPM GPA, I have demonstrated mastery in a variety of subjects within biology, such as general biology, genetics, neuroendocrinology, biochemistry of metabolism, and microbiology. I also have a thorough background in biomedical research from my undergraduate years, which supplements my knowledge of how biological research connects to the concepts discussed in coursework. I performed wet lab research in Neuroendocrinology Lab, dry lab research in Behavioral Neuroscience Lab, and completed literature review work in the Kessler Foundation surrounding clinical efficacy and safety of microfragmented adipose tissue treatments for the treatment of rotator cuff tendinopathies and osteoarthritis. I also received a 130 on my Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems section of my MCAT, which is the 95th percentile of exam scores in this section. I am excited to tutor in a variety of areas surrounding biology and help you achieve your academic and professional goals!

College Counseling

When I was searching for colleges back in high school, I did a deep dive into what would constitute the best college/university fit for my interest in becoming a physician. I found my fit at Seton Hall University, where I am a rising Senior Pursuing a B.S. in Biology in their Joint Bachelor’s/M.D. Program, and I have earned several competitive academic scholarships to fund my college expenses. As Co-Founder and Co-President of Health Occupations Students of America-Future Health Professionals, I run pre-health professions workshops, community health and service initiatives, public health campaigns, and certification training. I also Co-Founded and am acting Chair of the Advising and Career Counseling to Empower Students for Success (ACCESS) Initiative for the Dean’s Undergraduate Student Council, where I lead workshops to support students to achieve their academic and career-related goals. I have spent the past several years developing strategies and offering one-on-one and group mentorship for how to make the most of your time in college as well as have learned the most crucial factors to consider when selecting a college, including finances, program offerings, location, relative importance of prestige to your degree, and more!

MCAT,

MCAT

To work in roles like being a Medical Scribe and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), I have taken associated coursework in Emergency and Clinical Care, Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology. This coursework combined with having taken all pre-medical prerequisite coursework while maintaining a 4.0 GPA (both Science and Cumulative) at Seton Hall University has prepared me to achieve a competitive MCAT score of 514 from the exam I took in April 2022. My strengths for tutoring on this exam are in the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems–where I scored a 129–the Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems section–where I scored a 130–and the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior–where I scored a 130. To prepare for this exam, I used a combination of paid and free resources as well as picked apart each passage and question type over the 600+ hours I spent studying for this exam such that I can confidently tutor someone on how to quickly improve their score to reach their goals!
