St. John's University, College of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science (Actuarial Science)
New York University, Stern School of Business (MBA)
I am an NYU Stern School graduate with an MBA in marketing who scored in the top 7% on the GMAT (Graduate Management Assessment Test) on the verbal section. Prior to earning an MBA, I concentrated my school and work life in actuarial science, which focuses heavily on mathematics, specifically statistics.
In addition to tutoring, I am a professional photographer who is a kickboxing enthusiast, with a second degree brown-belt.
Over the past two years, I have been providing grammar and writing tutoring to a college sophomore, specifically for his World Religion course, in hopes of helping him pass his mid-term and written final exams. This young man had failed his mid-term due to fragmented sentences, as well as to other grammar and structure problems. He spent many, many hours with me correcting and shaping his papers, while learning basic grammar and writing skills. He received an A- in the course for all his effort! It was well deserved!
My student told his father that the reason he was able to keep up with the Ivy League students in his summer internship was that he spent so many hours with me learning grammar and writing skills. For me, there is no better feeling in the world than giving someone the tools needed for success.
When it was time for this young man to put his transfer applications together, I coordinated the entire Common Application process with his high school, current college, work and school references as well as provided tutoring regarding his Common Application essay and supplemental essays for the individual colleges and universities to which he was applying. I am happy to say that he was granted admittance to the majority of the schools and will be starting at Northeastern University this fall.
Moving beyond the academic, I have also provided private lessons and taught kickboxing classes within my academy over the past 13 years.
I am looking forward to providing you or your student with academic and/or fitness tools which can be used for greater success and in school, health and life.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
