Success involves practical application of self-education. The right "fit" for educating a student

is really a combination of student motivation and teacher stimulation.

You can make teaching fun and interesting. It separates those who become life-long learners and those who learn by "rote". I have been teaching for over 15 years in

My 13 y.o. son left his tutoring session with a much better understanding of the underlying concepts he had been struggling with. He was able to go through his past exams and figure out where he went wrong and then was able to immediately apply what Sandra taught him to that evening's homework, saving himself from making an error using one of her techniques. So far, he's happy, I am happy.

I was impressed when Sandra reached out to my son's teacher to obtain some material for tutoring. After one session, she helped raise he test score. She's a keeper.

I hired Sandra to tutor my 7th grade son in Algebra. Sandra did an awesome job reviewing, explaining, and checking for understanding! She is a great teacher!

Sandra spent time talking with my child and got to know about her relationship with her teachers and other students, and how that might affect her ability to concentrate and school performance. She suggested that she speak to the teachers to get their perspective as well. She sees the whole child, not just the learning "problem." A very nice lady.

Sandra is teaching me math , I am an adult college student , who has not taken math in years and Sandra has been extremely patient and has helped so much .

Awesome tutor! Sandra really helps me understand Algebra and the concepts I need to learn. I definitely would recommend Sandra as a tutor.

Sandy was wonderful with my son. Just a few kind words of encouragement, and a slight push to excel, is what my son needed to move ahead. Sandy is very knowledgeable and works well with students. She is recommended!

Sandra works on skills to become a better writer. She finds your area of strength and builds upon it.

Sandra was kind enough to meet me before the first session on her own time. She was very personable and accommodating on short notice. Her rates are reasonable which I greatly appreciated and she has a strong teaching background, which was important to me. My child felt comfortable with her immediately and that helped immensely. She continued to work with her over the summer on concepts she was struggling with and helped her pass an important placement assessment. I would highly recommend Sandra to anyone looking for a strong, patient math tutor.

I needed a tutor in Algebra 1 for my 15 year old daughter. My daughter was immediately comfortable with Sandra, which of course helped her learn. Sandra was very easy to contact and helped my daughter tremendously. She stayed in contact via text to help my daughter at odd hours and went the extra mile to help her in any way possible. I would not hesitate to contact Sandra for your tutoring needs.

Elementary Education:

Elementary (K-6th),
Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Once you change your mindset (to achieving Math success at any level): You will succeed at it...

I have taught in Middle School for over 10 years, (Sparta NJ Twnshp) Over the years study skills have been one of my specific interests. I have worked extensively with Special Education Students/Resource Classes on how to more effectively study and take notes for their individual subjects. I have found that instruction with Note-Taking and Organizing an Outline is

an art that isn't taught in Public Education to my liking. There is a definite correlation with note-taking (index cards, outlines, and audio devices) and successful grades. My success has been in instruction of Creating an Outline for each subject and how to prioritize the important bullets/points.

I also taught Basic Skills at a local Community College (Sussex Community College, Newton NJ) several years ago and the course entailed "Whether you were a Visual Learner or Audio Learner?" Each student was given instruction and a rubric to find what type of Learner they were. The results were amazing as each student gained such insight in reaching his/her potential.

Study Skills is so foundational that I would make it a requirement in all middle or high schools. Most of my tutoring starts with creating a study guide in outline form as to the

objective of the course, what you are trying to achieve, how you are going to achieve it and the strategy to succeed.

I think it is part of the reason for my success.

The perspective to keep clarity in all one's subject(s)
