Rutgers University - New Brunswick (Psychology and Business)
Hi! My name is Parin I'm your average 23 year old who enjoys the simplicity of life and everything that it comes with. I graduated from Rutgers University in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Art in Psychology and a Double Minor Economics and Entrepreneurship.
I started my journey 3 years ago at a facility in Edison, NJ called Little Treasures Day Care. I spent most of my time as a Teachers Assistant. I did all the daily activities from helping the teacher to communicating with the children on a one-on-one basis to group bonding activities. Personally, I see myself as reliable, articulate individual with professional demeanor. I love children and youth and am very passionate about teaching and what I do.
I recently was able to accept a position as a Instructional Aide at a public elementary school. My main goal here is to work individually with young children and help implement good behavior management and supervise individual students and provide direction in reinforcing and reiterating old and new concepts. I also provide supportive instruction and aid the students' in mastering equipment or instructional material.
My tutoring methods are very simple: 1. I always like to know what is expected of me. 2. I like to Prepare the lesson, Review and Prepare myself to encounter any sort of problems. 3. Meet the student and get to know them and also have them feel more comfortable around me. I feel in order for someone to teach something and have the other person learn, it's more than repeating the solution. It takes honesty, empathy, a moderate sense of humor, interacting skills and working through with the students strengths to not only make them feel good but to also help retain viable knowledge. And last but not least 4. We all need to know when to stop and when positive progress has been made.
I never give up, each child to me is different in their own specific way. They are like a lock and I am the key to help them reach their maximum potential. Hi! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
