About Richard

I am a lifelong learner who takes great satisfaction in helping students master challenging areas within the core science, technology, engineering and math curriculum. I have degrees in electrical engineering, math and accounting and have tutored many students over the past 20 years as well as taught professionals in a corporate setting. I currently teach high school physics, chemistry and algebra.

I know from experience there is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to learning. I am adept at identifying the mental roadblocks that are preventing a student from successfully mastering a subject and creating a learning strategy that fits the student's unique needs. I have successfully done this with students studying math (early math through advanced math like calculus and probability), physics, chemistry, SAT and ACT preparation, and for professionals preparing for Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma belt certifications. I can adjust the pace of learning to suit the student and I emphasize practice and deep insight into fundamental concepts.

I can be flexible about location. While I do require 24 hour notice of cancellation we can schedule make up sessions when needed.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Great Tutor

Richard helped me with my Math Praxis review. We specifically looked at Probability, Linear Equation and Geometry problems. He was very resourceful and directed me to sites that would further assist me in retaining the material that we reviewed in the session. He has a down to earth personality and made math learning fun. I really enjoyed my experience and would recommend him to anyone.
