About Elaine

As a musical theatre performer, voice teacher and coach, I have learned the singer’s paramount need is to maintain vocal health and consistency of performance. This is achieved by laying a foundation of solid vocal training, focusing on the healthy functional use of the voice.
My students are of varying ages and levels of proficiency, from the singer, dancer or actor with little or no previous vocal training, to the student auditioning for college music programs and professional musical theater. Lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs and cover a wide variety of vocal and musical styles such as classical, Broadway, pop, rock, R & B, jazz and gospel.

With a degree in Music Education, I have maintained a career as a professional vocal coach, teacher, musical director and performer for more than thirty-five years, focusing on vocal production, technique, and performance skills. My students have appeared on Broadway, in national tours, on television, in commercials, movies, and regional theatres. As a performing artist, my personal credits include Broadway, off-Broadway, cabaret, dinner theatre, church and synagogue soloist and numerous recordings. I have also appeared with a benefit for Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS and was a featured soloist on their Christmas CD.

So whether you're trying out for your school musical or preparing to audition for college or Broadway...
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve your singing goals!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
