I consider myself a "people person". I love having the chance to interact with people with a passion for life and the things they're pursuing. I loved my jobs as a child care provider (10 years) and elementary education tutor and teacher (4 years) because of these interactions. Recently, my work with adults in music studios has been equally as rewarding. I pride myself on teaching through encouragement and building confidence. I believe that with confidence, anyone can achieve anything they put their mind to. Not only do I plan on instructing students, but also helping to build confidence and a high self esteem that will help each student reach their goals and explore new territories.
In regards to elementary education, I have experience teaching ELA in public school grades 1-4 for 4 years. During that time I also tutored a handful of K-5 grade students in reading comprehension, essay writing, phonics, fluency and accuracy. In my previous year of teaching, I taught an extra period of reading comprehension skills as apart of a school wide ELA intervention initiative.
I have been writing songs in many genres (R&B/Soul, Pop, Rock, Gospel) with a number of producers from the NJ/Philadelphia region since 2005. I have studied songwriting, music theory, and voice privately and with lessons and classes. Since then, I have written songs for myself (on guitar and with instrumental tracks) and other artists, as well as assisted in the vocal production and recordings of songs and projects in my studio and various studios in the area. My project 50/50 was released June of 2015 on iTunes. All songs were written by myself and I frequently perform these songs with my band in Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
