Graduated from Rutgers University (PhD)

I have been a part time college instructor for over 10 years at a local university. While I have mostly taught all levels of calculus and statistics, I can also teach college algebra and pre-calculus as well as contemporary math. My background is in engineering and business, so I use an applied math approach to teaching. I find knowing why the math is important goes a long way towards helping students retain information. After all, math IS fun!

My son has been meeting with Robert for a few months now and he is feeling much more comfortable and has a positive attitude about his class. Much improvement overall!
My college age son has had three sessions with Robert and is very comfortable working with him. He is understanding the subject and making progress. I was listening in on the last session, while I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about, it was clear that Robert was walking my son through the problem, but in a way that required my son to find the answers.
Robert has also been very flexible with us in regards to time availability - something we greatly appreciate.
The bottom line is that we are very happy with the arrangement.
Robert is a very knowledgeable and patient statistics tutor. He helped my daughter get through a very challenging course that she had a great deal of anxiety about (she had tried to take the class in a previous semester but had given up halfway through). She had worked with several other tutors but none of them helped her understand what she was doing like Robert did. She just finished the class with an A and we are very grateful to Robert!
After the tutoring session the other day, my son said he wished that Robert was his teacher because then he would have no problem understanding and passing Calculus. He has a whole new understanding of the subject that he did not get from his professor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I hold degrees in economics and business and an MBA. I have been in upper management since 2004 and have had the opportunity to teach classes in international business, strategic management, and operations management at a local university.
In the past 5 years, I have taught differential equations at a local university.
In the past 10 years, I have taught various freshman and sophomore level classes in mathematics which have included modules in linear algebra. I have also taught linear algebra in an operations management class and I have utilized linear algebra techniques in the workplace.
