Hi! My name is Brandon, and I am a middle school special education teacher from central New Jersey. I graduated from Rider University in 2019 with a Double Major in Secondary Education and a Minor in Special Education. I currently work with 6th and 7th grade students enrolled in Pull Out Replacement and In-Class Resource settings. Throughout my time working with middle and high school students, I have learned that every student learns in their own way, and finding that way of learning is a teacher's job! As a tutor, it is highly important to meet each student where they are and find out how they learn best. To me, tutoring is an opportunity to help a student experience a new topic through a different lens and review different topics again. Any time a learner gets a second opportunity to engage with material is a valuable opportunity to connect with the material on a deeper level. I hope to help any student that I work with find what works for them and connect to different topics in a way that will strengthen their ability to use that topic in the future.

As a tutor, I have worked with students enrolled in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus courses. As a teacher, I have also been exposed to a range of topics within the middle school curriculum. I have a total of 8 years of tutoring experience from my time as a high school student, a college student, and a teacher. In college, I worked with college aged students enrolled in a math elective that reviewed high school math topics. As a special education teacher, I have learned how to engage with students who have learning differences and helped them overcome these barriers to find their success in math. I am looking forward to learning more and helping students grow as math learners in a the future!

I feel that I can be an outstanding math tutor because I am willing to find whatever method works best for the student to learn. I have tried many different pedagogical methods to reach students and found ones that work for a variety of learners. When

Brandon was patient and knowledge. He established a great rapport with my grandson.

He helped with basic algebra concepts and developed a plan for future lessons . My grandson seemed attentive and involved in the lesson. I was not directly involved in the lesson, but was nearby and could hear and observe the session. I was very pleased with the the first session and hope the rest of the tutoring sessions will be successful and helpful.
