I've been only teaching for a very short amount of years but during those times I've grown to love each and every interaction with students. I feel a sense of joy when any of my students come to understand their work and completes their task well. Teaching is something I can see myself doing in the future so I would love to broaden my experience and to meet new students. I have had experience teaching in a small classroom size with at max 8 students. I have had experience in working at two different learning centers and a summer camp at my church. I also have 4 year experience with assisting in a kindergarten class at my church as well. I love teaching because there is joy when students come back to any of their tutors and tell them that they did well on a test or their homework. I had an awesome opportunity to also go to a different country to teach a mix of elementary, middle and high school students English and TOEFL. It was an amazing experience to really go out of my comfort zone and to reach out to students who don't have the same educational system we do in the States.
I have confidence in teaching Anatomy, Biology, Elementary Science, Grammar, Pre-Algebra, Reading, and Vocabulary. I am currently a college student who is majoring in Biology and is hoping to be a nurse or a Biology teacher. I can also help students from K-5 in all different subjects.
Some examples of my tutoring methods would consist of a test based on their skills and to decide which area is the strongest and the weakest. After consulting with parents and the student, I would start helping the student out with their weakest area. I would also touch upon their strong areas but focus on the weak subjects. At the end of every month or two, I would have the student retake the subject test and see whether they have improved or not. From there the guidance as a tutor will be different according to their score. I am currently working with students in K-6th at my current job. I have also taught 3rd grade English and Math in my church summer camp. I have also traveled to a different country to work with Korean elementary students (grades 4-6) in English. I have previously tutored a student in 2nd grade for about 5-6 months before the student moved back to her home country.
I am a Korean-American who is proficient in Korean. I am also minoring in Korean currently so it is mandatory that I am comfortable speaking and writing the language. My previous Korean for Native Speakers class, I had gotten a B+ as my final grade.
Although I can't say I am the best at tennis, I have 4 years of experience from the best coach and mentor. He is not with us here anymore but he definitely was someone who can really touch hearts. I achieved many different awards in my 4 year career, won second place in league champions for 2 years and was named senior captain. Many of my awards include All Bergen-County League First Team in doubles, Honorable Mention All League 2 years in a row and National Division All League.
