I'm not your typical tutor. I'm not going to throw a lot of information at you and see what sticks. I'm interested in helping you to be able to retain the facts you need to know to succeed. I've been tutoring in various forms on various subjects for eleven years, and helping students achieve their goals means helping them to retain information, not just regurgitate it.

If you need help with English, writing, or literature, you should know that I am certified to teach English in New Jersey public schools, and I've been tutoring English the longest of the subjects I work with. I studied at Rider University and graduated cum laude in 2013. I worked in a college admissions office from 2009 to 2011, so if you'd like help with college admission essays, I know what the admissions office will likely look for. I would be more than happy to assist at any stage of the process, from brainstorming to editing.

If it's test prep you're interested in, I tutored SAT Reading and Writing at Huntington Learning Center in Lawrenceville, NJ for three years, and in that time I won Teacher of the Month twice. A large majority of my students saw improvements in their Critical Reading and Writing scores, and I myself scored a 700 on the Writing and an 800 in Critical Reading when I took the SAT. I worked one-on-one with students, giving them the tips and tricks of the test as well as content review and encouragement (because preparing for the SAT is about confidence too).
