Rutgers University (Pure Mathematics)
I have been tutoring since 2007 at the middle school, high school, and college level. I am College Reading and Learning Association Level 1 Certified. At Rutgers, I have tutored hundreds of distinct students and am thus well-acquainted with the different learning styles possessed by unique individuals. I always aim help promote students' mathematical understanding beyond performing procedures by rote. I have a BA and MS in Mathematics from Rutgers University, and I am currently working on a PhD in Math at University of Delaware.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken a course in discrete math at Rutgers University and have tutored undergraduates in discrete math. I am scheduled to begin PhD study at University of Delaware in the Fall 2013 and will likely specialize in something related to number theory/combinatorics. Discrete math is of course a vast branch of mathematics, and I look forward to brushing up on anything I may be unfamiliar with, on my own time, prior to any Wyzant appointments.
I've taken and completed linear algebra courses at the undergraduate and graduate level at Rutgers-Camden and University of Delaware. Through the Rutgers-Camden Learning Center I've tutored linear algebra at both undergraduate and graduate levels as well. I have a deep understanding of the subject, having also passed the Preliminary Exam for linear algebra for the University of Delaware PhD program I'm currently working on.
