I offer Tutoring on the theory and practice of visual art, particularly Drawing and painting. Focusing on observational drawings from life, compositional theory, color theory, painting techniques (mainly oil paints and watercolor), print making, sculpture, illustration, Art history, digital art (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and graphic design.
I have studied the art of drawing and painting my whole life and am currently working as a professional graphic designer. I believe every person has an artist within and has the ability to create art that is significant, meaningful and unique to who they are. My method of teaching encourages individuals to find their own voice as an artist. To express themselves through art that is of a high standard and never to settle for mediocre. This is achieved through serious study of the great works that inspire them as individuals and the techniques used to create them, and most of all practice and passion for the subject.
Lessons can be held at students home and materials can either be provided by students, or by myself for an additional fee.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have taken art classes at the Glasgow school of art and studied Graphic design at the City of Glasgow college. I have experience tutoring individuals with drawing and painting. My methods focus on evolving the personal style of the individual and helping them to further develop their style and achieve greater technical heights through study, guidance and practice.
