Bio

I just recently finished my Masters degree in Philosophy from CUNY Graduate Center. I haven't had any formal experience tutoring, but I've had my fair share of discussions and input on the work of my peers and professors. I plan on getting a PhD in philosophy, and hopefully make a living teaching and doing research. I think of myself as being very passionate about Philosophy as a whole, and although I still have much to read and explore, I do not find myself finding any area of Philosophy to be particularly boring or uninspired.

I would like to approach tutoring, especially when it comes to specific essay topics, as more of a discussion rather than a lesson. Philosophy is one of those unique fields where an individual, irrespective of how long they have thought about a particular subject, can come up with very creative and novel ways of approaching or understanding a philosophical idea or problem. I think that this specifically is what makes Philosophy a very special and interesting field, for once you have a lot of the groundwork and basics down, there is so much room for newcomers to express themselves in a cogent and unique way, that should not feel trite or banal, even when talking with individuals who have dedicated their lives focusing on a few philosophical issues. Not only have I learned a great deal from my professors, but they have also learned from me, and I hope that anyone who chooses to work with me understands that they also possess this ability, if they show a genuine interest and passion for the material.

I took Logic in both undergraduate and graduate school, doing well in both classes. The graduate school logic class that I took was from a program that was jointly tied for 1st in the subject matter, which means that the course material was quite rigorous.

I had a high major GPA in my undergraduate degree, and a high overall GPA in my Masters in Philosophy. I plan on applying to PhD programs in the Fall of 2021. I have a strong interest in the discussions about free will and on laws of
