Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I gave lectures and tours for 5 years at a major New York museum to a wide range of audiences -- a role that involved speaking from memory and holding the public's attention in unpredictable circumstances. Before that I was not "naturally" good at public speaking; actually, it terrified me. Since that job I have given public lectures at major institutions, lectured in front of students, and even done interviews on live TV without breaking a sweat.

Test Preparation

ISEE,

ISEE

I am currently tutoring several students who are taking the SSAT, which shares many subjects and types of questions with the ISEE. I am familiar with the subjects that are specific to the ISEE and with the slightly different strategies for taking that test (mostly to do with pace and scoring). I specialize in writing, reading, and verbal but can advise on general strategies for the entire test, including identifying areas of weakness.
SSAT,

SSAT

I am familiar with the best test-taking strategies and approaches. I specialize in working with students on the Verbal, Reading, and Writing portions of the SSAT. I can develop a custom prep program for students who would like (or need!) frequent contact and encouragement via messaging alongside their regular tutoring sessions.

SSAT

Frances is teaching my kids English for SSAT and I was stunned how organized and professional she was when we had our first lesson. she had materials for them and she even reserved a study room in Princeton library for my kids. She was unbelievable !!!! Words cannot explain. She introduced a new concept and strategies to them which took the kids to a different level for them to be a critical thinker when they see it certain words. And before they answer a question , they should think and to come up with their own meaning first and then look for the right answer. She opened their minds to be able to understand a certain words that will help them in their lifetime. As a parent myself, I did learn something new. I very glad I chose Frances, the kids can’t wait to see you Wednesday. Thanks for your kindness,.
