Art Center College of Design (Photography)
I am an award winning New York City studio photographer classically trained in photography techniques at the Art Center of Design. I just celebrated 39 years in business; photographing for major commercial, advertising and entertainment clients. I am familiar with all aspects executing an assignment. From layout to finished image: casting, set building, studio lighting, digital photography, as well as use of Adobe Photoshop for post production image manipulation. Currently I use a Hassleblad with Phase 1 P45+ digital back and Capture One as well Canon and their proprietary software.
I know Adobe Photoshop really well, having done well over 6,000 high resolution images (50mb+) for clients. This entails use of multiple layers, skin tone correction, removing hairy, furry and feathered characters from the background, advanced color correction, adding drop shadows, cloning, as well as many techniques that are excellent to know, etc.
My approach to tutoring is the same that I use in business. Listen to the clients needs and solve them with my advice, experience and knowledge. This requires patience and clear communication back and forth to achieve in a timely manner.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been a commercial photographer for 39 years and worked in digital retouching on several platforms for over 22 years. All of my assignments require varying levels of post production work using several programs most notably Adobe Photoshop.
