I have been helping students CRUSH all fields of High School, College,Test Prep, and professional math/analytics since 2011. I provide guidance for advanced students, along with students who are totally lost! I've had some students who were initially failing math, only to be placed one or two grades ahead after a few months with my help! Struggling High School and University test prep students see double digit increases in their percentile rankings , and my advanced students rise the extra percentage points they're looking for.

Math was my greatest fear and worst failure until I turned 30, yet I earned both my bachelors Magna Cum Laude in economics and mathematics on a full scholarship and the Charles Pine Study in Economics award Grant in 2015, and my MS in Business Intelligence and Analytics in May 2017.

I was the worst math student, I couldn't understand how it was taught in school, and I was convinced that I just wasn't a math person. Yet when I went back to college as an adult, I decided to teach myself the basics of mathematics... and it just took off from there.

I learned my method of learning, and that discovery has helped me realize that I can help other students, (whatever their age) who had the same problem as I did. With that certainty, I have been able to help hundreds of students understand whatever formulas , theorems, or test formats that initially challenged them.

I have noticed that all of my students are actually quite skilled at calculation, its just their strategy of calculating that is holding them back.

All you need is someone with a bit of perspective to take a look at how you do math, find a few small mistakes, and explain what to do in PLAIN ENGLISH, once that happens, all I have to do is sit by and watch for a few small details as my students solve equations that terrified them just ten minutes before.
I do one on one and classroom tutoring, up to groups of 12. I've tutored students from age 9 to 70. All are welcome!

I've worked with several kids on the spectrum and with special needs, I seem to have a knack with kids who have the most trouble learning.

When it comes to test prep, think of me as a SAT, ACT ,GRE, and Math proficiency exam prep life coach. if your scores are average or minimal, in order to achieve a drastic improvement in your test prep scores, you literally need coaching, constant testing, re-assessing, and an approachable increase in challenging math problems as you progress....so lets get to it!!

Elementary Education

Elementary Math

Elementary Math

Having now Aced calculus II and taking Differential Equations and Econometrics (advanced Stats), I'm very familiar with Statistics, Algebra 1, Calculus, and Precalculus. After not being in school for twelve years, the first math course that I needed to take was this subject. At first I wasn't sure If I would perform well in this class. But thanks to having a great teacher, I was able to understand every concept that was taught, and even better, I knew how to explain whatever problems there were to the other students. Now, I am more than ready and able to explain all facets of math to any struggling student. My goal is to make whatever is challenging you most seem easy.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I say this as someone with a degree in mathematics, most of the math subjects that you'll cover, especially in test prep and calculus, are based on Algebra, and Algebra, when you finally understand a couple of core principals in the subject, becomes super easy. I always get a kick out of seeing my students finally "get it", that moment when they understand the basic rules of algebra, and manage to use them. I promise, that under my tutelage, you will have the same revelation
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I'm very familiar with Algebra 1. After not being in school for twelve years, the first math course that I needed to take was this subject. Calculus,

Calculus

I have a bachelor's in Mathematics since 2012, and I've been Tutoring Calculus for High School and College students for 5 years. Have you ever heard "Hey, it's not Calculus!" as an expression? It means that whatever it is you're having trouble with isn't really THAT hard. but I disagree, Calculus is very simple, as long as you know your Algebra. If fact, that's where most of my students have the greatest struggles in Calc. Once we go over the gaps in your algebra skills, Calculus will be just like putting together a simple puzzle.

Precalculus

I have a bachelor's in mathematics, and over my years of tutoring, I've seen this subject be the greatest bane to my students educational existence... until I come along!! For me precalculus is fun, and I love talking about it because its so fascinating!! That's great for you because I can explain the most challenging parts of it as if it were super easy.. which it is, once I show you how to understand it!
SAT Math,

SAT Math

I've helped dozens, if not over one hundred students raise their SAT Math score beyond their expectations. I've helped top scorers gain the extra 40 points to get a perfect score, and bottom performers raise their score by over 200 points. My best record is raising a students math score from 480 to 700.

Great statistics tutor!

Very kind and patient and knowledgeable about the subject. Was able to help with an online class that my son was taking for college. He was very responsive and flexible and accommodating. Would highly recommend Andre.

Outstanding Stats Tutor

I can honestly say that Andre is the best math tutor I've ever had. Statistics, especially on the graduate level can be quite challenging. I went through no less that 5 different stats tutors before finding Andre. His understanding of statistics and data analytics is incredible! However, it's his ability to teach these concepts in a way that is easily understandable that really sets him apart. He can make the most complicated concepts easily understandable and has the patience to explain these concepts to someone with little math proficiency. I can't tell you how highly I recommend Andre.

Andre is great!!

Who thought math could be fun, but Andre is a fantastic tutor with a very engaging teaching style. My daughter really enjoys working with him. Great choice for kids that hate math!

Excellent

Excellent, detail oriented, quickly responded to our needs. Highly recommend him. We will use him again. Helpful!!

Andre's the best!

My son has so far had 8 lessons with Andre and will probably have about 8 more before the semester and final exam are over. It goes without saying that he knows Calculus, but in addition, he's been flexible with scheduling and extrapolates from one problem things which will help him solve other related-type problems. He's also patient and great at explaining. My son has only very positive things to say about Andre and heartily recommends him to others.

Diane, 9 lessons with Andre

Highly recommend

Andre helped me out with my GMAT prep. I'm weak at quant, so he not only went through trouble problems for me, but helped me come up with a study plan that works on my time scale. His explanations were clear, and if I was having trouble he would take the time to go over it until I understood. I had no confidence in remembering math when we started, and after my initial lesson with Andre, I feel like it is well within my grasp with a little practice and application. Highly recommend.

Enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor

Andre is very helpful in explaining problems and breaking them down. He makes the math fun and easier to digest. He is very passionate about what he does and will make sure he takes the time to go over something again and again until you understand it!

Taylor, 5 lessons with Andre

Excellent tutor

My daughter has had 1 lesson with Andre, but what she said which I thought was most impressive is that he doesn't lecture, he teaches. She said he made sure she had an understanding before moving onto the next concept.

Beth, 2 lessons with Andre

Knowledgeable and thorough

Jack really enjoyed his tutor session and learned a lot from Andre... even though he doesn’t like Math!!! Andre was knowledgeable and thorough and he prepared my son for the SAT in a short period of time!!
