Five Towns College (FilmVideo Production)
Hello my name is Mary. I'm 23 years old and I love film! I went into college wanting to do something big in film. My classes showed me everything from directing to advertising and more. I learned that my passion was TV shows. I love how TV shows capture an audience and influence them, for better or worse. I want to be that better influence in someone’s life. The other passion I have is for everything I do to be done with excellence. It drives me nuts to have something completed and for it to be slightly messed up. If I can fix it, I will.
Throughout high school and college, I've tutored students in photography, film and more. To be able to help someone perfect their craft or just to help them have more fun at what they do is worth it to me.
I use Lightroom on a daily basis whether for my clients photos or tweaking my own. I will be able to show you how to play with the presets and how to create your own.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Film/Video Production. With this degree, I was taught every aspect that goes into film. This includes theatrical and film acting, photography, video production and more.
I have a pretty open schedule, and I would love to show you how to become the best you can be at your craft. Send me a message :) Hello my name is Mary. I'm 23 years old and I love film! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Not only have I been acting in community theatre since I was 8 years old, I have taken several acting classes in and out of school.
Through this I have learned several different techniques of acting for stage and film that can be passed onto any student willing to learn. Together we can find what technique works best for them and bring them to be the best version of themselves.
The best way to tutor someone in theatre is to bring several segmented scripts (drama, comedy, horror, etc) and to break each scene down. Block it, memorize it, act it out. Make your counterpart understand what the character is thinking - why would they act this way?
You're not just yelling for the sake of yelling, there has to be meaning behind every tone in your voice and every action.
I am confident you would benefit from my previous filmmaking/editing experience as well as my work ethic.
I have worked for several student projects at Five Towns College. Through this experience, I have demonstrated the ability to assess the project, and to create a polished final project.
In addition, my experience working for three different companies has allowed me to acquire skill from different aspects of production. At Eventions Productions, I rigged lighting and projectors for upper-class events in the Philadelphia area. Fine tuning and preciseness was key in every event we designed.
As a camera person/editor at HeartLight Video Productions, I filmed and edited weddings, graduations and special events. This gave me the ability to work under the pressure of filming live events. I learned how to edit unexpected circumstances.
In my time working/interning for MovieGuide, I edited footage from television shows, movies and video games for moral content, and uploaded the content onto Youtube. Learning to take direction for tasks that were time and order oriented gave me a sense of structure and responsibility in my work.
I have just recently graduated from Five Towns College with a BFA in Film/Video in the top of my class
