I have had great success improving elementary and middle school students' work with the four basic operations, fractions, and decimals. I use a program called Touch Math to assist younger students who need support in learning their math facts.
I have worked with special needs students for over thirty years. I have extensive experience working with improving students' phonetic awareness and building upon that to also improve comprehension skills. I speak compassionately to students who have not met with academic success. I work on improving their self-confidence as the first step in achieving academic success.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
