I'm a professional SAT/ACT tutor. For years, I've been providing value to parents by consistently outperforming even the highest-priced tutors.

I combine my background in cognitive psychology with nearly a decade of teaching and tutoring experience to personalize my approach for each new student. I weave cutting-edge test-taking strategies into individualized lessons. With every student, I begin by carefully observing how the student naturally proceeds as a test-taker. I then tailor my instruction toward my student's strengths, making sure that each student feels challenged yet motivated.

I have a strong track record of success: I've tutored some students toward perfect SAT 800's/ACT 36's and others out of trouble-zones into respectability. Whether a student is intellectually gifted or requires specialized instruction, I always proceed at a pace and in a style that instills confidence. My students like me, but they also realize that I hold them to a high standard of excellence: I expect their best.

In addition to providing effective tutoring, I coordinate weekend morning practice exams at no cost to parents to ensure that my students practice their new skills in a simulated test day environment. These practice tests provide vital Real-time feedback, allowing me to assess where students are improving and where they still have opportunities for improvement.

As for my background, I have master's degrees in psychology and statistics. I have since been using insights from both these disciplines to inform my approach and strategy.

ACT English,

ACT English

I tutor all sections of the ACT, but I have noticed that my students most consistently improve on ACT English. Through tutoring, I developed a method that enables students to quickly learn and remember ACT grammar and writing concepts. I discovered early on that memorizing theoretical knowledge does not translate to ACT English performance. Instead, by explaining the concepts in practical terms using specific language cues, I've found that I can explain a concept just once and students are able to commit the concept to memory permanently.
ACT Reading,

ACT Reading

To improve ACT Reading scores meaningfully and consistently, there is no replacement for teaching students to become stronger readers. Strong reading comprehension begins not by understanding sentences, but by thinking about passages as a series of paragraphs. Most student require assisted guidance at first, but once they have grow comfortable with a new reading style, their scores readily improve.

The Writing Section is tough even for students who are good writers. Some students are naturally able to identify problematic phrases, but for most, they must learn the specific techniques for the Writing Section. More than any other SAT section, the SAT Writing Section is the most learnable and the easiest to improve.

Strong math instruction comes from meeting a student at his or her level of ability and comfort. First and foremost, I focus on practical knowledge: I want my students to get SAT Math questions right. But I always keep an eye out for where I can develop the student as a mathematician -- not just a test-taking automaton.

Very professional and knowledgeable

I feel hopeful that Ari's help will raise my daughter's SAT score. It is ultimately up to her. He has some valuable insight regarding the language arts portion of the test.

Patient Tutor!

If you do the work, you will get results! My daughter does not have a lot of confidence in test taking. The preparation and guidance from Ari is definitely helping her to build her confidence.

So glad we found Ari

Ari has been superb for my daughter... He relates so well to kids and is patient, understanding and clearly extremely knowledgeable; his expertise is very confidence inspiring. He has made an unpleasant experience (what teenager likes studying for standardized tests?) as palatable as possible.

Patient and analytical

Ari related to my son well and knew what areas to focus on for him. We don't have his results backbyet, but if the practice tests are a good indication, I would expect him to pick up 100 points on math.

Dedicated Tutor

Ari takes his tutoring above and beyond what other tutors do. He takes a strong interest in making sure his students succeed.

Engaging

Ari is able to engage his students and keep them focused on material presented. He also let's them know activities outside of school are good, too. He is a great tutor.

Can find an approach to a rough around the edges teen

My son is 13 and while he is pretty smart has been difficult lately with complaints from teachers and coaches about how he holds himself. I was worried if my son would listen and establish a good enough connection with a tutor for it to be a good productive experience for both of them. Ari managed to get my son to talk and open up more than anyone else, including his therapist. So Ari certainly has a good way to approach a teen and make him participate and focus on work.

Great tutor, always reachable, always willing to discuss progress

Ari is very patient yet thorough with my daughter. My only regret is not having met him sooner this school year.

Great tutor, who is effective and reliable

Ari is a great tutor who does not waste the student's time and cuts straight to the heart of what needs to be learned and practiced. He is easy to get along with and always reachable and reliable. Having Ari tutoring him helped my son stay focused and willing to put the effort into improving his SAT score.
