I was a certified substitute teacher in the Orange, NJ school system and Jersey City Academy Charter High School. I am experienced with students in grammar school, high school and college.
I love Math and Science and enjoy passing on my knowledge to others. I know you will pass your subject if given a chance to learn. I believe all students should be able to learn at their own pace. Math is not hard if explained properly.
I teach my students to understand the concept behind the subject not by rote which will soon be forgotten. By understanding the basics the student can build up his knowledge to any level. I let the student try on his own then correct and guide him to the correct answer , not just telling him the answer. This way I inspire in the student a true love of learning for any subject.
I enforce logical concepts and reasoning which can be used in any area of education. Soon the student has a desire to learn on his own and has the confidence to tackle any problem. Anthony has a great work ethic. He is always early for lessons, does not get easily distracted, and brings supplemental material like textbooks/paper/pencils/calculators. He is passionate and hardworking and genuinely loves to share his love for Math with others. He is knowledgeable about the subject and if he does not know something you can guarantee he will research the correct answer with an explanation for the next lesson. I would recommend Anthony for high school and college level Math. His availability is great and you can always count on getting the best instruction for your money.
I'm working with Anthony on my ged he is very professional. He brakes things down for me so I can understand the problems. I am comfortable with my decision to make him my tutor. Thumbs up :)
Patient, knowledgeable, uses teach back method during lessons and his lessons are interactive. Always ontime. Good communication between the student and the parent.
Anthony is an amazing tutor. I contacted him to help my son, who was home from college on break, with his upcoming Algebra class. From the first session, Anthony would arrive early and get right to work. He brings all material needed and is very thorough, explaining each lesson before presenting examples for my son to try. I believe in the few meetings they've had, he has done more for my son then our district did when he was in high school. Thank you Anthony!!
Mr Anthony is one of the best tutor I have met. My son loves the way he teaches. He explains in a very simple way for him to understand. His grades improved a lot. Best tutor ever. Thanks Mr Anthony for your hard work.
Anthony is an excellent tutor. He is gentle, hard working and patient. Very flexible too. His tutoring helped to improve grades a lot.
Mr. Anthony is an excellent math tutor. With his help my 7th Grade child improved her Math grades and confidence. He is also very reliable and I recommend him to anybody.
He was on time, and was very patient and was very helpful in explaining math in the 30 minute period he was able to explain and help me understand some of the problems I was having.
Anthony is ALWAYS on time and has been able to teach my son to retain techniques in order to make math easier to understand.
Anthony is very dependable and knowledgeable of the subject matter. My only complaint is that he will ask a question and proceed to answer it without giving the student a chance to respond or to work out the problem on his own, which I have requested on several occasions. I appreciate his assistance but would like to try others.
Anthony went over anything I asked. He was on time, patient, and knowledgeable. Great value for Intermediate Algebra. He's passionate about Math.
So far everything is going great. Mr. Anthony is very reliable and most of all very patient & confident of his tutoring lessons. I look forward to my sessions.
Anthony held several sessions with my son to help him review for his final exam. He was punctual, flexible with time, and reviewed a trimester worth of material in a strategic and comprehensive matter. My son scored a 110 (extra credit) on his final! Anthony is worth the investment!
Anthony was very helpful throughout my mid-semester till my final exam for College Algebra. He was patient, always willing to make sure I had no doubts and fully understood his explanations. Thankfully, I was able to successfully pass the class. I definitely recommend his services.
Anthony is helping my son in middle school with Algebra 1 and he is extremely knowledgeable and patient. He is an excellent tutor and I will use him again.
My daughter has Anthony for a tutor since December. I am very satisfied with his work. He is able to explain the problem in different ways which is a quality that defines a good tutor. He is always on time and makes himself available if she has questions. I was looking for a good tutor for a while and I am glad I came up on Anthony.
Anthony is very student-friendly and provides very customized lectures to students. He is also confident to teach well. I can recommend him.
Anthony was able to explain complex concepts clearly and my daughter was pleased to have a better understanding and was prepared for her next quiz in Algebra.
My son is really coming along. When I asked him how HE felt about his progress, his response was "Great! I'm even raising my hand with the answer". That in itself is a testament, as my son never likes to be the center of attention with math.
I rated Anthony as an excellent tutor because he was effective and efficient. My step-son was so happy after one lesson in Algebra 2, he told us "I can really do it and I'm ahead of my class". This meant a lot to us and we thank Anthony for his assistance.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
