I studied Mechanical Engineering at The College of New Jersey (highly ranked school, see US News or Forbes rankings) and conquered most math subjects along the way. Teaching is a love of mine, and I have tutored on and off since I was in high school. My greatest teaching strength is my ability to simplify concepts so that they are easier to learn and understand. My confidence in my abilities was always high, and spending the past three years as a Math teacher confirmed this for me as my students made enormous learning gains. Coaching sports teams has also aided my growth as a tutor, showing me some things that typically are not learned in the classroom, but apply directly nonetheless. Also, I have some unique coaching experience in an unconventional field. I am an extremely high level poker player and have coached many students, teaching them how to make a better living for themselves. Not only do I teach strategy and math, but I ascertain underlying factors in performance such as how they deal with pressure. These outside factors can prove to be vitally important to success in testing, and any situation someone feels pressure or resistance in.

In summation, I am available to tutor all math subjects (and some science) middle school through college, and would be happy to throw a football around or play some cards to wind down after a session.

Elementary Math

Elementary Math

Elementary math is comprised of the basic building blocks of mathematics, which I am extremely strong in. Typically students struggling with this subject simply need further explanation and more repetition. My abilities to articulate my thoughts precisely, explain things clearly, and relate to my student's knowledge base makes me a strong tutor for elementary math.
